Big Bass Fishin

We picked up Big Bass Fishin expecting a throwaway tap game and ended up playing it on the couch for a whole weekend. The core loop is simple: pick a spot on the lake, cast, and then react when a fish takes the bait. The trick is in the timing. Reel too hard and the line snaps, too soft and the fish shakes loose. Getting that rhythm right feels genuinely satisfying.

Controls are all touch, and they're well tuned. You swipe to cast, then hold and tilt to fight the fish, easing off when the tension bar goes red. It reads like a mini rhythm game more than a strength contest, which we appreciated. Different lures and rods change how forgiving the fight is, so there's a light progression that never demands grinding.

The presentation is calm rather than flashy. Water ripples, birds pass overhead, and the sound of the reel clicking is weirdly relaxing. It's the kind of game you open for five minutes and then look up half an hour later. Not deep, but honest about what it wants to be, and it nails that tone.
